40 letters for 40 years

Hi all,

Tomorrow is my birthday, and it’s a big one- I am turning 40 years old. Earlier this year, I had dreamed of taking my friends to Dollywood. Dolly is one of my favorites because she gives books to children, I aspire to do that too. I digress and I think Dollywood will have to wait for next year.

For my birthday, I want your help. Can you take a few minutes to contact your local representatives and ask them to help us bring Leifer home? 40 letters for my 40th! A short message can make a huge difference, especially when it comes from people who care and are paying attention. I am providing contact information for our California representatives and a few talking points to make it easier. A phone call, a letter, a visit to your congressperson’s office, a letter-writing party- I have hope that it all helps. I believe in the power of numbers.

P.S. My niece is visiting the Grand Canyon. She is near a community that receives its mail every day by mule, it’s called the mule train. It’s amazing what the US Postal Service does in rain and shine. If we send enough letters, just maybe they will need to be delivered by mule, too.
